Emma- This definitely looks worthy of the effort. We don't have Waitrose in the US, but I'm sure we could find something similar. Hope you're well this week? Cheers, Thalia
Thank you Tahlia. I am about as well as I ever am, by which I mean I am exhausted and in pain. But I am happy, so that is good!
My mention of Waitrose was a little joke for my UK readers, really. It is a very expensive and posh supermarket here. It is the closest one to where I live, which is why I bought my ginger there, when I realised I didn't have any. But mostly I just buy my groceries somewhere cheaper. I *think* most ingredients should be reasonably easy to get in the USA. I will ask my boyfriend who lives in Tennessee...
Let me know if you give the recipe a try! I have already heard from one of my readers that they have made it and enjoyed the results.
lol Paul. I was sooo confused for a minute! I’d forgotten about my supermarket reference in this post. Sorry they messed you about like that. Bastards.
I have to say that isn’t my usual supermarket - I’m more of an Aldi or Asda shopper usually! lol
You are welcome! I like this one, because all the ingredients are (or can be) shelf-stable, and it requires almost no prep. Let me know if you like it!
I’d like that I’m sure.
It is so easy and so delicious. You should try it! Let me know if you do…
I will, thanks.

I asupermarket where. Pay me or treat me like a princess and I'm yours. Otherwise you're the enemy of my people. Its a very affirming strategy.
I'll have to try yours
I will cook it for you, next time you come!
Thanks for this! Always looking for easy and yummy recipes.

That looks lovely Emma. Will give that a go!🥰
You should, Jen! It is delicious AND healthy. Let me know what you think of it!
Will do!👍
Oooo I love a good dahl (dal? dhal? so many spellings) AND having a freezer full of it - will definitely try this.
Yay! I really like this version, but obviously it can be adapted to suit your personal preferences. Let me know how you find the recipe!
Inspired to try this, thanks, Emma! Might need to pop to the shop first, though – think I've most of the ingredients… but not the essential dhal!
At least if you are missing such an essential ingredient you will go to the shops *before* starting to cook, rather than in the middle, as I did!
I definitely recommend the mix of red lentils and chana dhal (which are split chickpeas). I think the two combined works well.
Let me know how it goes, and if you enjoy it!
